Kids Fashion Fair Pop-Up Vendor Spotlight: Ice Cream Castles
LA's first Fashion Mamas x Kids Fashion Fair pop-up shop officially opens at Platform Culver City on December 1st! To celebrate, over the next few days we're shining a light on the amazing brands that you'll be able to shop at our five-day concept space.
Ice Cream Castles is for dreamers. Offering playful pieces for both boys and girls, this LA-based line is filled with imaginative kids clothing that never compromises style. The best part? All items are super soft and cozy, so your little one can stay in the same outfit while they nap and when they hit the park. Here, Ice Cream Castle founder Veronique Vicari Barnes and partner Wells Butler tell us more about their fun-loving label.
What inspired you to launch your brand and what were you doing before it?
We both come from fashion backgrounds; Veronique had a successful jewelry line called Jewelry by Veronique. And I (Wells) had a successful women's line called Primp. Both of us had taken a few years off to devote to our babies, but last year we decided we wanted to get back into fashion. Being new mamas, children's clothing seemed like the most organic category for us.
Capture the essence of your brand in one sentence:
Print-driven and vintage-inspired wardrobe staples for your fashion-forward littles.
What is your favorite piece in your collection right now?
The Cosmic Camp Pullover is one of our current favorites. It's so easy to throw on over anything and it makes a cute outfit.
Who is your dream client?
Our dream client would be a baby Anna Wintour or Kanye West.
If your brand was a song, what song would it be?
"Ice Cream Castles" came from a lyric in the Joni Mitchell Song "Both Sides Now," so that would be our song!
Shop Ice Cream Castles here, follow them on Instagram here, and catch them at our Kids Fashion Fair pop-up shop from December 1st through December 5th!
