KFF Pop-Up Vendor Spotlight: Paradise People

LA's first Fashion Mamas x Kids Fashion Fair pop-up shop officially opens at Platform Culver City on December 1st! To celebrate, over the next few days we're shining a light on the amazing brands that you'll be able to shop at our five-day concept space.

Paradise People instantly makes any space more beautiful. The label's vibrant blankets are handwoven by local artisans in Mitla, Mexico, and we love them so much that they're part of the decor at many FM events — including our upcoming pop-up. Read on to learn more about this inspiring brand from founder Elizabeth Kennedy, and swing by the space to shop a collection of Paradise People's most popular styles.

What inspired you to launch your brand and what were you doing before it?

I launched Paradise People after meeting the most talented, artisan weavers in Oaxaca. I saw a way to utilize their traditional skills to make a product relevant for the industry I previously worked. Prior to launching Paradise People, I publicized and strategized for other beachy brands like Quiksilver, Planet Blue, and Billabong.

Capture the essence of your brand in one sentence:

Beautiful blankets, handcrafted by beautiful people to enjoy beautiful places.

What is your favorite piece in your collection right now?

Indian Summer Stripe Blanket

Who is your dream client?

My dream client would be Shelter Social Club; they've created some of my favorite hotels to visit and it would be so cool to have Paradise People incorporated into one of their properties.

If your brand was a song, what song would it be?

If Paradise People was a song it would be "Ain't Nothing Wrong" by K.C. and the Sunshine Band
or "Blitzkreig Bop" by Yo La Tengo.

Shop Paradise People here, follow them on Instagram here, and catch them at our Kids Fashion Fair pop-up shop from December 1st through December 5th!
