Ditch the Coffee and Try This Energizing Smoothie

This spring has been a whirlwind. Between mom-life, hustling at our day jobs, traveling to exotic locales for spring break, and taking in the hottest parties, like our recent Mama Mirage at this year’s Coachella, it’s no surprise that we might be craving a healthy way to recharge our bodies and minds.

Inspired by her love of matcha and green smoothies, our resident superfoods guru and Mama Cribs subject Sophie Jaffe of Philosophie has whipped up the perfect drink for mama and child. Her Energizer Dreamy Smoothie is packed with coconut butter — a healthy fat that keeps us full longer and also acts as wonderful brain food for both parent and tot. The addition of matcha is high in antioxidants to help prevent disease in the body. Ashwaganda, an adaptogen and ancient Chinese medicinal herb, does double-duty: it assists in reducing anxiety by balancing stress levels; and, decreases blood sugar levels to minimize onset of depression.

Sophie suggests enlisting your little ones in making this smoothie! It’s a great way to connect and start the day off right; it also creates the perfect opportunity to teach kiddos about using superfoods to heal our bodies from within.
