Meet Elisabeth Munder: Miami Mama and Founder of Luxury Ink
WHAT DO YOU DO AND WHAT LED YOU TO THIS CAREER?
I do public relations, marketing, and special events in the luxury retail and lifestyle space. I began in the industry by being the world's worst teen model, but the experience showed me the business of fashion and I was hooked. I am descended from generations of fashionphiles and storytellers, so I carry on the family tradition by creating narratives, connecting people, and curating beautiful experiences.
WHAT ARE THE NAMES AND AGES OF YOUR CHILDREN?
Lee Rhoades, 8, and Grant, 5.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST CAREER ACHIEVEMENT THUS FAR?
The 3,200 guest opening of Restoration Hardware West Palm Beach. I never thought the largest project I would ever work on would be after I left New York.
WHAT IS THE MOST REWARDING ASPECT OF BEING A MOTHER?
Sharing achievements with my boys — even something as small as tying a shoe or buckling a seat belt is a joyful achievement.
AND WHAT IS THE MOST CHALLENGING?
Discipline. Discipline takes time, energy, and is never rewarded in the short term, but children need boundaries to grow up safe and happy.
WHAT IS YOUR BEST ADVICE FOR SOMEONE NEW TO YOUR INDUSTRY?
Style is no substitute for success. Only legitimate hard work and professionalism will propel you, so despite their apparent glamour, approach fashion and luxury as the businesses they truly are.
WHAT IS YOUR BEST ADVICE FOR A NEW MOTHER?
Set yourself free of ‘shoulds’, and live as feels right to you. Do not let the way others approach new motherhood make you feel inferior, and likewise do not judge.
WHAT'S NEXT FOR YOU? DO YOU HAVE ANY EXCITING PROJECTS COMING UP?
I am currently planning a luncheon with best-selling author Lydia Fenet and top Palm Beach working women, plus launching my champagne client A L'Est and a major collaboration between Serena & Lily and my client The Colony Hotel.
