Meet Lori Caden: LA Mama and Founder of Belly Bandit
What do you do and what led you to this career?
I’m an entrepreneur and a natural salesperson! That combo led my to create, Caden Concepts, my promotional products company. We work with small businesses to Fortune 500 companies manufacturing branded product solutions, everything coffee mugs to mouse pads, you name it, we’ll make it. I co-founded my second company, Belly Bandit, with my two sisters and it was a direct result of my personal “body after baby” experience. We knew there had to be a better way for women to feel better about themselves post-baby. We introduced the first doctor-recommend, postpartum compression wrap, the Belly Bandit Belly Wrap in 2008 revolutionizing the maternity world. Our company has now evolved from our signature product to include maternity wear, intimates, athleisure and a complete line of compression shapewear, the Mother Tucker collection.
What are the names and ages of your little ones?
I have a daughter, Charlee, 14 and a son, Chase, 11
What has been your biggest career achievement thus far?
I’m incredibly proud that Belly Bandit grown into a global brand that is recognized worldwide. But, for me, knowing that we’ve created products that help women look and feel their absolute best is my biggest career achievement.
What is the most rewarding aspect of being a mother?
The most rewarding aspect of being a mother is having the opportunity to watch my two little humans grow up and to see the amazing people they have become. I learn so much for them and they keep me grounded.
And what is the most challenging?
Can you say, teenager? Even though I was warned about the teen years, I still find myself unprepared, it’s definitely a daily challenge!
What is your best advice for someone new to your industry?
My best advice to any new business owner is to know that nothing is impossible until YOU decide it is. Build a network, keep looking forward, develop thick skin and an outside-the-box mentality, and nothing can stop you.
What is your best advice for a new mother?
New moms will receive advice from everybody! My advice, don't listen to them. Go at your own pace and do what feels right for you and your family.
What's next for you? Do you have any exciting projects coming up?
I’m so fortunate to run two very successful companies …so why not three? I’m so excited to announce that our third company will be launching in Q4 of this year. Once again, it’s solution-based and need-driven…and here’s a hint, women at every age and stage are going to love it!
