Meet Ida Kay: LA Mama and Brand Communications Pro
What do you do and what led you to this career?
It all started when I began planning my own birthday parties in 3rd Grade. I absolutely love getting people together and enjoy the strange balance of creative thinking + organizational skills, which led me to career in Communications, mostly in the apparel world for global brands. My career has taken be back and forth between LA and NY, though we are definitely now West Coasters for life. In my most recent NY stint I was the head of Communications for Dutch denim brand G-Star, and left five years ago to start at Red Bull Media House overseeing artist projects within music, art, and dance. I am now heading up Brand Communications for the brand, based in LA.
